How it works

Three steps, all in your browser. ImageToSend is designed around local processing so your files are not intentionally uploaded to ImageToSend servers for processing.

Step 01

Select your files

Drag and drop or pick your documents and images. They are loaded into your browser memory. HEIC/HEIF files may require additional local decoding time before they can be edited.

Step 02

Process locally

The tools use standard browser capabilities — Canvas for image operations and WebAssembly for HEIC/HEIF decoding — to process your files on your device. Files are processed locally in your browser when the tool runs; they are not intentionally uploaded to ImageToSend servers for processing.

Step 03

Review and download

When processing finishes, review the result and download it directly to your device. Processing time depends on file size, format, browser, and your device's available memory.

What "Browser-Based Processing" Means

A closer look at where your files actually go.

Server-based converters
  • Typically require uploading your files to an external server over the internet.
  • May impose usage limits such as a number of files per day.
  • Upload and download speed depends on your bandwidth.
  • May retain documents on the server for a period.
ImageToSend local processing
  • Files are processed locally in your browser when the tool runs.
  • Tool access without strict daily file limits.
  • Processing speed depends on your device and the file being processed.
  • ImageToSend does not intentionally upload or store processed files on its servers.

Local processing also has trade-offs. Because work happens on your device, very large files or many images processed at once can strain your browser memory. Processing in smaller batches usually helps. See the FAQ for troubleshooting details.

ImageToSend is not an offline tool. Loading a tool page requires an internet connection and a modern web browser; once the page is loaded, your files are processed locally in that browser rather than being sent to ImageToSend servers for processing.

The Privacy Promise

ImageToSend is designed around local browser-based processing. Your files are processed in your browser when the tool runs, which is designed to reduce the need to transmit your documents to external servers for processing.
