Image Format Converter
Convert images between standard internet formats like JPG, PNG, and WebP. Resolve file compatibility issues using local browser processing.

Accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC/HEIF — processed locally
The converter redraws your image onto a canvas in your browser and encodes it in the format you choose. Pixel dimensions stay the same; only the encoding changes.
Local processing
Conversion happens in your browser; your image is not intentionally uploaded to ImageToSend servers.
Measured in a manual Chrome browser test with a generic test image. Results vary by image and browser.

Key takeaway: Changing format does not guarantee a smaller file. The result depends on the source image, chosen format, and browser encoder.
Which format should you choose?
The right output format depends on what the destination accepts and what kind of image you have. The converter reads your file locally in your browser and writes the format you pick — it does not change pixel dimensions or recover lost detail.
Choose JPG when…
- •The destination only accepts JPG (common for forms and portals).
- •The image is a photograph and a smaller file size matters more than perfect quality.
- •You do not need a transparent background.
Choose PNG when…
- •You need to preserve transparency (e.g. a logo with no background).
- •The image is a graphic, screenshot, or line art where sharp edges matter.
- •File size is not the priority — PNGs of photos are usually larger than JPG.
Choose WebP when…
- •The destination explicitly supports WebP (modern websites and apps).
- •You want a strong balance of small file size and good quality.
- •Older portals may reject WebP — check before uploading to a form.
When conversion will NOT solve an upload problem
- •The file is still too large after converting — use the Smart Resizer to target a smaller size.
- •The portal requires specific pixel dimensions — conversion keeps the same dimensions.
- •The portal has a content or naming rule the image does not meet — no format change fixes that.
- •The source image is blurry or poorly framed — converting the format will not improve the picture itself.
HEIC / HEIF input
Many iPhones save photos as HEIC/HEIF, which most web portals do not accept. The converter decodes HEIC/HEIF locally in your browser and exports JPG, PNG, or WebP. Files larger than 6 MB are rejected before decoding to avoid browser instability, and decoding is capped at 20 seconds. Convert larger HEIC files to JPG using your phone's Photos or Gallery app first. JPG, PNG, and WebP inputs are not affected by this limit.
